It very well could be a type of seizure. A seizure is like an electrical storm in the brain, or part of the brain. There are many types, and are all different. The most likely in this case would be a focal-motor seizure. Not all seizures cause people to pass out. This is something you should ask your doctor about, and you will probably be referred to a neurologist. It could be serious, or could be something simple. Don't take any chances.
